My church helped put together a Christian concert at our local park tonight. There was a skate competition before the concert and then three different bands played. The bands were (let’s see if I can remember them all) Philmont, My Heart’s Hero (or Our Hearts Hero?), and High Flight Society.
I got the job of photographer (I use that term loosely) for the day. It was fun and the bands were all pretty good. I hope I got some good pictures. I know I didn’t get pictures of everyone from the church, because as soon as I would point the camera at people, they would give me dirty looks or turn away. Haha. I would do the same thing if I was on the other side of the camera. I don’t know if anyone will be speaking to me, at church, tomorrow. I need a camera with a really good zoom lens before our next big event. That way no one will know when I’m taking their picture.
I suppose it’s good that I was behind the camera because everyone would be crazy with jealousy if there were pictures of me in that lovely neon green/yellow t-shirt. I looked so good. It really showed off my tan. (Anyone who knows me is laughing right now, because I am PALE.)
I used Shiloh, last night, to practice taking action shots for the skate competition. My camera is slow, so she was almost right at my face before the picture would snap.
I don’t know this kid, but it was a pretty good shot. (They all looked so young.)
I just thought this was a funny picture of Buddy and John. Neither one of them made it to the top.
Here are some of the guys from Philmont. It was hard to get the whole band in one shot because they were so spread out on the stage.
Not a huge crowd, but not too bad for our small town. (Don’t you love the t-shirts? They really stand out.) This isn’t the whole crowd, either. Some people sat way back in the field. (Too loud?)
This was Our Hearts Hero.
The lighting wasn’t great for photos, but this is High Flight Society.
So, I’m wishing that I had a better zoom and flash on my camera, and I’m wishing that I had taken twice as many pictures (to make sure I had some good shots – some that I thought would be good ended up blurry), but I think I got a few decent ones. I’m assuming Pastor Bobby will put some pictures on the church’s website or his blog soon, so check that out to see more.
I have to say, I think I had the easiest job today. Some people loaded and unloaded or manned booths or parked cars or built the stage. I planned on helping with the clean up afterward, but everyone seemed to know what they were doing and I was kind of in the way, so after helping with a few minor things, I went home. I hope there wasn’t more I could have done. I feel like I didn’t do much, but I guess every little role helps. Goodnight everyone!
