I can only hope that my own sixteen year old daughter tries to figure people out like that. It is the main thing I am trying to teach her to do. So that when she chooses to love that it is a wise choice with the heart and souls judgement. And as how to read someone, actions speak louder than words. I feel the same way. I wrote a post about 'Hurting People Hurt People', though that helps put things into a bit of perspective for me. If I view everyone as a child of God who has just fallen down, its easier to see them for who they are at their core. After being burned, you're suspicious of everyone's true intentions. Its kind of like Newton's law where objects will remain going in the same direction until another object affects its path. You're probably going to keep wondering if everyone is fake until you meet someone who isn't. I have to learn this way, at least. Its hard. It would be fun to have a scanner you could point at someone and it automatically gives you a reading on basic personality traits, past criminal history, religious background..etc..haha but I guess Facebook is already halfway there!
