About me… it’s hard to describe myself. I’m a 27 28 year old single mother of a sweet little girl named Shiloh. Shiloh is almost 2 3 and the smartest and most beautiful baby little girl I’ve ever seen (and I know that other mothers never feel that way about their children). I never have enough hours in the day and I never seem to have time to sleep. I’m just trying to find some order in the chaos between working full time, being a full time mother, and maybe finding time to wash my hair…
Unfortunately, I can’t afford my own place, so I live at my parent’s home right now (hopefully not forever). Thankfully they are only home on weekends. (You shouldn’t have to live with your parents when you’re my age.) I am thankful to have a roof over my head, so I won’t complain. I enjoy my job and the people I work with, I just wish it paid a little better. I just recently went back to college (Fall ‘09). And I’m now trying to juggle college (online) full-time, with working full-time, and being a mom full-time. I’ll let you know how that works out.
My life is pretty routine and, some might think, maybe a little boring. I’m okay with it. I am who I am and I’m not going to pretend to be someone else to make you like me. I’m generally an easy-going and happy person. Even when life isn’t so great, it’s hard for me to stay angry about it. No matter how bad things are, I’ve still been very blessed. I’m not an angry person, but I’m also not one of those over-the-top sugary sweet (fake) people – sometimes I want to slap people like that (sorry, I may be too honest). I don’t like fake people, just be real! If someone can’t like the real you, why would you want to be around them anyway? (Yes, I’m a bit opinionated sometimes.)
I have great friends, a great (sometimes irritating) family, a wonderful church, and an awesome God. I’m a little self-conscious and I don’t like being the center of attention. I’m a big Predator’s fan (thanks Beka and Neal) and love going to hockey games. I’ve always been a bit of a control freak, but I’ve had to let alot of that go the last couple years. I’m always learning, growing, and trying to move forward. I’m not a girlie girl, if I’m wearing heels, I’m probably looking for a place to kick them off. I’m also not very good at just writing a couple of sentences…
This blog will hopefully be a way for me to put my thoughts on paper… I mean computer screen (that just doesn’t sound as good)… and probably tell way too many stories about Shiloh.
Any other questions, just ask.

Jenn,
Just stumbled on to your blog through 5 Minutes for Mom… I was a single mom for years. It’s a long road but God is so faithful to provide and heal us! I’m launching a new web site for single moms in early June. Perhaps you will consider listing your blog on the blogroll and connect with other single moms!
Blessings on your day!

I like you BECAUSE you said this. I like getting to know REAL people. It’s refreshing.

Hi Jenn, I stumbled on your website and saw that Shiloh likes my “Only One Me” book.
I’m so glad that she does and you are a fantastic Mom to teach her how special and wonderful she is. Send me an email…I’d love to send you another book!

Happy WW! Thanks for stopping by my site. I’m looking forward to exploring your blog. I’m new to blogland, so it has been fun reading about other moms who are similar or experiencing the same things throughout this adventure called motherhood!
My sister is a full-time working, single-mom, around the same age as you and just moved back home. I’m going to be sure to email your blog to her- sounds like you may be experiencing some of the same challenges as well as blessings! God bless you!!

“I have no clue where I’ll be or what I’ll be doing 5 years from now. (If anyone has any suggestions that don’t require too much college, let me know.) ”
Be a writer! I love your writing style, the words seem to come out of you so effortlessly. I think you could write some freakin awesome books too, with your experiences as a single mom. There are a ton of women out there who could identify with you and want to read your book.
Seriously! I’d buy it. (Not a single mom, but I know a lot of them and love them dearly…)
Your new fan,
~Sarah
